We offer great coaching opportunities whether you are the venerable veteran, the up-and-coming coach, and especially if your are new to coaching or have recreational coaching in mind only. This year OMF fielded 75 coaches in our Rep, House and Flag programs.  

 

To tell you a little about our coaches:

• our Rep Head Coaches are experienced football coaches with the ability to assemble and mentor a strong coaching staff from experienced parents and football coaching collegues. Most have had 10 years plus playing and coaching experience and are certified football coaches. 
• Our tackle coaches are often past football players and experience coaches - who love the game and want to give back what it offered them coming up. Many of our coaches have hailed from the CFL, NFL, CJFL, University, High School and Student Coaching backgrounds. 
• And our 25 Flag coaches this year were made up of past football players, some experienced coaches, and of parents who wanted to get involved with their kids' activities rather than watch from the sidelines.

 

All of our coaches understand the importance of balancing competitive enthusiasm with mature leadership values that young players must take away from their experience with the team.

 

We assist training for our coaches with grant monies offered by the Town of Oakville for Recreational and Competitive level coaching accredations. We have been very fortunate in Oakville to find terrific coaches who are passionate about giving back to kids as was given to them coming along. We encourage parents to get off the sidelines and into the game as well - if you are ever interested in coaching.
