Bantam Tackle House League - Fall PDF Print E-mail

It takes a team three seasons of playing together to become a "Championship Team". For this reason, we encourage our high school coaches - and our players - to work toward the goal of getting ready to play High School Football as a Bantam. This is the growth spurt years - where our coaches turn chubby couch potatoes into top athletes - and performance players into high-school trophy winners.

Fall Bantams look forward to a safe and athletic full-equipment, tackle football program with other players of their own age - with smaller team sizes and assurance of more playing time. 90+% of Oakville football players play as Titans, so this is a great opportunity for the players to play alongside boys - and girls - whom they will play with in High School as well.

We offer Bantam programs in both of our spring and fall programs - and the key difference between the two is that the spring program includes coach and school bus travel to neighbouring cities. Fall house league players play in Burlington and Mississauga with some of the most gifted players and coaches in the province to learn alongside from..

The Bantam age group is a split of Grade 8 & 9 students in 2011 - and so we encourage grade 9 students who are clearly not going to see a lot of playing time on their high-school teams (shout outs to HT, Loyola, and OT) - to join their community house league instead - and come out ready to play as first-line players in the spring and fall next year.

Here is what we've made work for Oakville kids...

  • The best-of-the-best in safety equipment and facilities. We provide Helmets, pads, and body armour; and we practice and play at Oakville's top football park - Bronte Field.
  • Uniforms - Both Game & Practice Jerseys & Pants are issued to every player and players keep their Game Jersey at the end of the season.
  • An 8 week fall game season begins with a parent information night - see our online calendar or home page for the date and times.
  • Practices run two hour sessions a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30) with games on Saturdays.
  • Schedules will be posted up to 4 weeks in advance for your convenience - and coaches try to make accommodations for busy family plans.
  • Our first scrimmage game is September 18th and first game is September 27th.
  • A professional Team Photo and 1 individual photo are included in your registration.
  • Turf game fields, 5 refs per game, full equipment, Argos day, certified trainers at practices & games, and much more.
  • A ton of fun for the whole family.

Titan Bantams 2009And at just $365 per season, our fall Tackle Football program is - we believe - the best valued full-equipment sports club in Oakville. All helmets, shoulder pads, jerseys, etc. are included - so when compared to rates paid by our hockey players - we're much less expensive.

The OMF is a community led, volunteer run, not-for-profit football league working to build a ground-swell of interest in American Football in Oakville. Show your support by participating in our programs and by volunteering time where you can.

Please note that Oakville Minor Football does not permit high school team players to also play house league. The reason is that high school players work out 5 days per week for 2 hours - and then play a tackle game each week. Athletic students will struggle to maintain a healthy body weight in the face of this much exersion and to add another series of practices and full-contact games is - in our opinion and in the opinion of the Halton Separate and District School boards - a potentially unsafe level of sport.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
