In 2011, Oakville JV Titans will return to defend a string of winning seasons. With a SCOFL Championship in 2009, a first place season finish in last year's OFC AA, and the coaches that led both the 2009 and 2010 winning seasons, we can't wait to see what the JVs can accomplish.

Parent/Player Info and Equipment Day will take place after Spring Break and practices begin on the last Tuesday in March. Our first game will be in late May and final games will be in late July. See our club calendar for more details - and for what to wear to practice each day.

We will practice at Bronte Athletic Park and Iroquois Ridge and we try to vary our Home turf practices with grass practices - because most of our games will be on grass fields.

We are thrilled to offer our Rep players the chance to play in what has rapidly become the premier, tiered minor football league in the province, the OFC. Click to read about the OFC - and other OMFA Partners here ...

The OFC is the place we wanted our teams to play. The league is comprised of the larger football groups in GTA and, unlike other leagues, it forwards important transparency and community values to minor football.

This year, Titan JVs will play against Burlington, Hamilton, Toronto, London, Chatham, Ajax, Barrie and other South Central Ontario cities. The OFC JV group has been tiered in the past to ensure that our players enjoy a safe and athletic full-equipment, tackle football game with other teams of their own skill level.

We can't wait for the 2011 season to begin!

Coach Jeff Zarzuela moves up to coach our JVs in 2011 from the offensive coordinator role in our season winning Titans team of 2010. Jeff has assembled winning coaches from both our 2009 and 2010 seasons - for bigger things in 2011.

This coaching team took our 1&7 2009 Bantam team to a winning JV season - and a heart-breakingly close Championship game -  in 2010, so we can't wait to see what this group can do with our experienced players in 2011.

Jeff Zarzuela, Head Coach, Co-offensive Coordinator, Running backs Coach

Jeff played high school football at St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary in Hamilton from 1999-2002 winning 3 city championships, “Best Lineman” 2003, “Best Offensive Lineman” at the 2002 Steel City Bowl, and served as Team Captain in 2003.  Jeff graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2009 and played Offensive Guard in his first year before moving to Fullback in his second year.  Jeff played under Coach Chris Triantifalou, Coach Curtis Bell, Coach Mike Vaughan, Coach Dennis Mcphee, and Coach Joe Paopao.  Jeff Coached with the Warriors summer camps, 2 years with the JV Cambridge Lions which was the top offence in the league both years, 2 years with Resurrection Catholic Secondary School in Waterloo, and last year with the Titans helping with the offence and serving as running backs/Linebackers coach.

Nick Jovanoski, Offensive line Coach/Assistant Head Coach

Nick attended Holy Trinity HS in Oakville and won the Tier 2 championship in 2003, and was a finalist in 2005.  Nick played rep football with the Halton Invictas and was named OVFL All-Star 4 times.  He Graduated from the University of Waterloo and played under Coach Dennis Mcphee and Coach Joe Paopao.  Nick’s coaching experience includes work with the Waterloo Little Warriors spring camp, lineman coach for the Halton Invicta’s, assistant coach for the undefeated 2009 Holy Trinity Junior Titans, lineman/Assistant Head Coach for the 2010 Oakville Titans, and lineman coach for the 2010 Holy Trinity Titans.

Rob Birtles, Quarterbacks Coach/Co-offensive Coordinator

Rob was a 5 year starter at QB with Holy Trinity HS in Oakville leading his team to a tier 2 Halton Championship in grade 12 and to the tier 1 finals the following year.  Rob was recruited by Mcmaster University and attended training camp this past fall before deciding to concentrate on his engineering degree.  Rob was the Offensive Coodinator for our Oakville Titans last year which was #1 in the league points scored with 226 points, and points/game at over 28ppg.  Rob will look to build on last years success as he returns as our quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator.

Guy Buchanan, Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs Coach

Guy played 5 years at running back with the Saint Laurent Spartans in Montreal.  After moving to Toronto in 1991, Guy attended Central Technical School where he was moved to Free Safety and won 3 championships and a Metro Bowl Finals appearance in 1992.  Guy was a 3 time All-Star, served as Team Captain for 3 years, and was one of the top recruited Free Safety’s by US and Canadian Universities.  Guy also played Corner at Vanier College in Montreal, Strong Safety with the Semi-pro Hamilton Wildcats, and Outside Linebacker with the Montreal Titans.  Guy coached Running backs with Greenfield Packers, has 8 plus years coaching track and field, and was an Assistant Coach with the Oakville Titans last year helping with running backs and defensive backs.  Guy returns this year as our defensive coordinator/defensive backs coach and will also help with special teams.

Brent Chartrand, Linebackers/Defensive Line Coach

Brent has 6 years of playing experience in Mississauga including 2 years at Meadowvale Secondary School as well as rep football with the Mississauga Thundering Herd.  Brent has playing experience at Defensive Line, Running Back, and Linebacker.  Brent twice won ``Defensive Player of the Year`` award at Linebacker and also has experience coaching baseball.

Here is what we've made work for Oakville players...

  • The best of the best equipment - Helmet, pads, and body armour. OMF Rep runs the best helmet and equipment in our league.
  • Numbered Uniforms with Game and Practice Jerseys and Pants. Players keep their game jersey after the season.
  • A 10 week season beginning in late March and running through to mid-July.
  • Practices run two days a week with one game on the weekend. Schedules are posted up to 4 months in advance for your convenience and coaches make every effort to accommodate a busy family or summer plans.
  • JV is an exciting level of football and most of our boys will go on to High School and College teams as they develop.
  • Turf fields, 5 refs per game, full equipment, Ivor Wyne day, trainers at practices & games, and much more.

And at just $650 per season, our community-led Rep Tackle Football program is - we believe - the best-valued full-equipment minor sport program in Oakville.

OMF is a community led, volunteer run, not-for-profit football league working to build a ground-swell of interest in American Football in Oakville. Show your support by participating in our programs and by volunteering time where you can.

Titan JV Coaches of yester-year ...

Sean Roberts - Titans Head Coach

In 2010, Coach Sean Roberts was Head Coach after winning 2-years of Halton Junior Champion titles for the Holy Trinity High School Titans. The team went on to win its OFC season but miss the Championship in a fantastic back-and-forth game with a dramatic and heart breaking end. Congratulations to the Toronto Junior Argos for emerging victorious over an amazing Titan team.

In 2009, Coach Joe Moscato led our JV team to the Ontario "AAA" SCOFL League Championship in a close final with the Hamilton Steelers. Congratulations to a tremendous team of Oakville Youth who played an incredibly tough final game after beating powerhouse teams from Hamilton, Burlington, London, Chatham, and other mature football centres week after week. What a season!

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
